Q: Why can't I backup my iPhone on iCloud?

My phone say that it can't be backed up on iCloud's because there is not enough space, though I have plenty of space left. What can I do?

iPhone 5s, iOS 7.0.4

You need to purchase additional iCloud storage in order for the data on your phone to fit the backup requirements.
iCloud starts at 5 GB's (no charge). More info here:

I'm a bit confused.
If you've purchase additional iCloud storage and it still says "not enough" for the backup, then it sounds like you don't have enough storage in iCloud.

I've got 4.6 GB free on iCloud.
Another thing I've noticed now is that my iPad is backing up perfectly. I can access the 'manage backup space' tab in settings>iCloud on it. On my iPhone I can't even open that tab.

The iPad is backed up already. I want to back up my iPhone and have 4.6 GB's free.
