Apr 5, 2014 7:19 PM in response to Trevor04Cobraby Zorgon,I feel your pain! My 7th gen iPod nano worked fine for the past year - but my last two runs have been lost. Just at the end of the run - the thing crashes and "reboots"- it is frustrating. I will try setting it a mile or two longer than I plan to run - and perhaps turn off the voice - but sheesh c'mon Apple - fix this app.

Apr 5, 2014 7:30 PM in response to Zorgonby Trevor04Cobra,Well I did a Half Marathon today and It didn't shut off just because I turned off ALL prompts as far as distance and feedback goes. I also did a "basic" run so there was no halfway/ending point for it to crash. It sucked because if I hadn't been on a planned course I would have had to keep checking the nano by hitting the home button. I also avoided getting the lock button incase that gave me a status update. This is the only way I can make the app function so it will save your run for transfer to the computer.

Apr 18, 2014 5:30 AM in response to Flip_Cubby DeejIpad,I like everyone else has my nano stop half way through my run and reset to zero with no record - very frustrating and I did call support and they told me to turn off the voice - duh then what is the point - i am back to keeping tarck of laps and I might as well have a stopwatch in my pocket...support not much help. My issue is with timed runs so far as I get restults with my 5K runs to date. What I dont like is not being able to clear the nonsense off my nano from yesterdays stops and restarts without clearing the whole month....

Apr 18, 2014 11:35 AM in response to Flip_Cubby laurynsausage,Glad I found this thread - I've also been battling this in and off since Jan this year. It happened today 7.5 miles into my run when someone tried to call me and I rejected the call :0(
It's also happened on much shorter runs.
In the meantime I will use another app and manually log runs in Nike+
I've a 10 mile and a half marathon coming up soon and sadly I don't trust Nike+ app anymore.

Apr 18, 2014 9:58 PM in response to DeejIpadby Flip_Cub,@DeejIpad: Well, I guess it shows some kind of progress that Apple support is telling you to turn off the voice. When I first reported the issue, they had no idea how to troubleshoot the problem. I'm guessing enough people are starting to report the problem that they've caught on to the Internet chatter about it and are telling people what we've been able to figure out for ourselves. And if that's true, that might mean they're working on a solution for it, too. Of course, we'll never know because no one at Apple or Nike has acknowledged the issue head on or hinted at any long-term fix for it.
Apple and Nike should know that we're not just casual runners. We actually give a s**t about this, and had come to rely on their product. This isn't a good reflection of either their understanding of their customer base or passion for this particular product line. Perhaps I'm being harsh, but I've been dealing with this problem since January with no movement from either company.
It's sad because Nike just started a campaign called "Stronger Every Run" to raise money on the eve of the Boston Marathon and "Run with the Nike+ Running App on Monday, April 21st." Anyone want to join me in tweeting @nikerunning and tell them, "I'd love to run with Nike+ Running App, but unfortunately it doesn't work on iPods anymore"? If you do it, make sure you include a link to this discussion thread.

Apr 23, 2014 11:16 AM in response to Flip_Cubby RunnerChuck,Well Apple Support deleted my first post, said I broke their rules trying to organize a customer revolt.
I have a 7th Gen Nano iPod and have had the same problem with the app crashing with voice prompts enabled since the last software update.
I submitted a support case to Nike + Fitness and am waiting for their reply now.

Apr 23, 2014 3:49 PM in response to Flip_Cubby tinagski,I have tried not touching the Nano once I start the run. I hit the home button when my run is over and end the workout. So far it has not crashed. This is ridiculous because I can't use any of the feedback during my run, but I at least want to get the run recorded but it's a sacrifice. I wish Apple was helpful or at least honest about this problem. They only told me that it is not the ipod, but the software causing the problem. Each rep from Apple gave me the impression that it's no big deal and the ipod works. I contacted Nike and they were very nice about it and said they are trying to figure it out. Seems like nothing is going to be done though. So frustrating!

Apr 23, 2014 4:12 PM in response to Flip_Cubby Glhsa,My iPod (without warning) starts voice commands when the feature is turned off. This happens all the time, recently, the iPod shuts down (partially) then comes back on, it literally has a mind of its own. I've done all the normal troubleshooting, restarting, rebooting etc - does not solve problem. When you try and shut down the unit, it just starts up again. Extremely frustrating when you are working out. Taking it up to store tomorrow, if they don't replace I'm throwing in the trash basket at the store. #junk

Apr 23, 2014 10:12 PM in response to Zach9312by Flip_Cub,@Zach9312: I was wondering what happened because I get email updates whenever someone posts to this thread. I saw your original post via email about using Twitter, but then it was gone when I went directly to the discussion thread...
At any rate, I actually did try Tweeting @nikerunning--once on my own, and once using the hashtag you suggested. For some reason, when I search for the hashtag, my tweets don't come up though. No one from Nike has responded.

Apr 24, 2014 7:29 AM in response to Glhsaby iloverunning,This has started happening to me too Glhsa! With regards to the voice over
I have it turned off on everything that I can find.
It not only does it randomly when I am working out, but it will come on randomly when I am driving, listening to music in my car! I won't even touch my ipod!
So frustrating!!!
My voice over than will start to skip in a middle of a song repeated times, than go on to the next song
And will start the process all over again!
I have never been so disappointed in a product!

Apr 24, 2014 7:30 AM in response to Flip_Cubby iloverunning,WOW they sure are quick to make sure that nothing negative is posted about their product!

Apr 24, 2014 8:08 AM in response to Zach9312by paulva,I would suggest using the #nikeplus hashtag. People use it to post runs and that would give the issue more visibility.
