I have desktops to choose from. I could see where this mught be handy, but riight now I find it downright annoying to suddenly switch desktops because I swiped or did something else to make i switch.
I cannot find a setting for multiple desktops.
17" MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5), 2nd computer dual 1.85GHz G5
* Enter Mission Control (You can do this by pressing a key, e.g., F3 in recent MBPs. See System Preferences, Mission Control for the current keyboard shortcuts.)
* You should see the available desktops as little windows along the top of the screen.
* Hover your cursor over the one you want to delete (hover, not click) until a little x appears.
* Click the x.

If you want to use control in a game, but it switches desktops or doesn't work, then open System Preferences, and click on Keyboard. Now click on the Shortcuts tab. Now click on the Mission Control item. Uncheck all of the boxes. Control should now work in games.
But what if I want to remove the extra desktops completely? I have to use ctrl for a jump in a game and when ever I do the screen changes and I end up dying.
