Mirroring with MACPRO (MID 2009)

I have a Macbook Pro (MID 2009) and I am looking to be able to mirror this to my apple tv. It looks as though my model it too out of date for this. Am I correct? Is there anyother way of mirroring that I can use? Thanks Mike
