I want to get files from Mac Zip Disk on PC

I found an old Macintosh zip disk from my computer arts class in Dr. Phillips High School. I'd love to get the media files off of it to see my old computer art work.

I currently use a PC with Windows 7. I'm not familiar with any old Apple Mac iOS or anything. I'm a PC guy, except for iTunes, iPhone 5, and iPad 2.

I was thinking of buying a used zip drive off of eBay to extract the data. Maybe use a Mac/PC utility to view the files. If that would work???

Only thing is:

1. I don't know what iOS was used about 14+ years ago (1999 or 2000) while I was in high school.

2. Will the zip disk read on my PC if I were to buy a used zip drive on eBay?

3. Will I have to re-format the zip disk or anything?

4. Will a Mac/PC utility work to view the files (Adobe Photoshop files, I think).

- I do have PhotoShop CS3 on my current computer desktop.

- And what is a good program to use?

5. Could I goto some place like Staples or Office Max and they could possible be able to extract the files without any problems?

So I'm up for any ideas and information that could help me...

If there is any info I left out, please let me know and I'll be happy to add it.

Thanks to anybody that is able to help me with this problem!!

1, iOS only works on iPhone, iPads or iPods. These drives were probably made with an operating system that preceeded OS X such as OS 7, OS 8 or OS9.

2, No, the data on the Zip Drives is formatted for the Mac.

3, If your reformat them then all of the data is wiped

4, The problem would be that the PC can not read the files as formatted on the zip drive by the Mac

5, There are services that might be able to migrate the data for you but I seriously doubt that Staples or Office Max can do it for you. The services that migrate data charge big bucks so be prepared to pay for it.
