Can anyone help with the formula to convert fahrenheit temps to celsius? I need the formula and have not been able to find it/figure it out from help area of numbers.

This formula converts the fahrenheit value in cell A1 to celcius: =((A1−32)×5)÷9

Here are examples for conversion in each direction.
Upper table, B2: =(A-32)*5/9
Lower table, B2: =A*9/5+32
For results to the nearest degree, enclose either formula in ROUND(formula,0)
°F ->°C: =ROUND((A-32)*5/9,0)
°C ->°F: =ROUND(A*9/5+32,0)

Here's an alternate pair that uses the fact that the numbers match at -40° on both scales:
°F ->°C: =((A+40)*5/9)-40
°C ->°F: =((A+40)*9/5)-40

I am putting this formula in the cell, but it's giving me the red triangle saying it's a syntax error. What is the actual function I need to call it (ie: sum, convert, etc.)?

Let's say the °F-reading in Column B. You can write:
=CONVERT(B, "F", "C")
