Law student - Ipad or Macbook?

Hello everyone briefly I will introduce my position.

Currently i study law at college but i will be moving to university soon. I can't writte hand notes therefore for now I use samsung galaxy tab 2 10.1 with keyboard case to make notes during lessons, is ok.

At home i use my mini mac with 2, 23 inches screens I use it for college work, animated videos and creating websites + casual task like web browsing.

I am not exactly happy with using samsung don't like the programs or that is quite hard to sync my tablet with mini mac.

So I was thinking to purchase new apple product for college work. And here comes the problem, all apple producs are **** expensive therefore I can get only 1 thing!

Either purchase ipad mini/ipad air or purchase macbook pro, air?

All I need the device is to: Make notes during lessons/sessions, being able to do home work and research (just for law). It must be flexible so I can sit elsewhere and do my work 🙂

The options are : Get rid of tablet - buy Ipad air/ipad mini.

Get rid of tablet + mini mac and buy mac book pro

Get rid of tablet and buy mac book pro - but then do i need mac book pro + mini mac?????

Please help me is very confusing! (if i chose to buy ipad i also will have to purchase good mobile keyboard.)

If you need to do legal research regularly or write long papers when you're away from your Mac mini, I'd suggest a MacBook Air. The iPad is a great adjunct and some people can successfully use it for a lot of writing, but most people find it less than ideal, and there may well be legal research sites that cannot be accessed from an iPad. If you can get only one device, the MacBook Air will be much more flexible and you'll be less likely to run into significant barriers in using it for your schoolwork.

Whether you will then need the Mac mini will be up to you. I'd suspect that you won't, but that's something only you can decide.

Regards.

"Better" will be up to you and your needs. The Air is more portable, the Pro is faster and has more ports for connectivity and of course the higher-resolution screens. These sites may help you decide, though you'll want to confirm that their information is still current:

Wow thats pretty impressive! 🙂 I think then getting this is much more effective than Ipad, lets say that I would get ipad air 16gb - that is £320, as i will not pay vat + i need to get a good case which is £60 so basically I have to pay £400 whilist for £200 more i can get something which is 2 better right??

Also, do you think I can apply student disscount on this? I know i can apply student discount in shop apple it is 5%, but can it be done online also ? thats another £30, always something right 🙂

Sorry, but I don't know what you mean by this.

No, to the best of my knowledge, student discounts apply only to new Macs, not to the refurbished units, though again, you can call the Apple Store and ask.
