Black MacBook updating from leopard to snow leopard?

I have the black MacBook from 2007/2008 and it is running OS X 10.5.8 and I was thinking of upgrading to OS X 10.6 but was wondering if it was going to make my computer run slower? Also, will updating delete all the data currently on my computer? Thanks.

Hello,

It won't erase anything, but may require many paid upgrades for APPs, but it depends also on many other factors..
