How to move a region freely, or smoothly
Super basic question, but how do I move an audio region, or the curser, freely, without it clicking as I move it? I just can't find a preference setting to turn this off.

Hi, for fine adjustments of this sort you could try this: click/hold region, now press/hold cntrl (I think) and adjust….
Have a nice day!

......and I wouldn't at all be surprised if you had to turn on the super user setting, namely: Show Advanced Tool before hand! 😎
Thank you. This does work, but I would really like to be able to make it that way without a key needing to be pressed to activate it. Hopefully there is way, but glad to know about this workaround for now. Cheers.
You need to show them advanced preferences... then in the upper right of the arrange area is a menu for snap, in which you can turn it off.
Ah, thank you. "Snap" is the word I was grappling for.
Turns out, using that menu effectively turns it off, but you can't turn it off completely, just setting it to Samples makes it very fine, so that it's like it's turned off. For those reading this, to be clear, it's found in the menu on the top right of the screen, not in the normal menu bar, but on the application window. Not sure why Logic has menus there rather than where we expect them to be, but once you know, you know.
Thanks for the feedback.
In 10.0.5 you can actually turn it off, now.
Ah, right. I need to update! Thank you for clarifying. Much appreciated.
