I am having a problem adjusting the crop in iPhoto. I can crop but I can't move the crop to the area of the photograph I am interested in. My iMac just crops dead centre. This only happened this morning. Has anyone else experienced this?

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
- History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
- Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.
Thank you. The operating system is OS x Lion 10.7.5 and my version of iPhoto is 8.1.2. The problem started this morning, up until then the cropping worked. I dont know what to try to fix it. There are no obvious keys pressed on my keyboard and my mouse is working fine. When I ask the system to crop it does a centre crop in the size requested but doesnt let me move that crop to the area of the photo I want to focus on. The lines denoting the crop are there but I get the hand rather than any other symbol when I hover the mouse over the lines. I wondered whether I have inadverntently pressed a combination of keys on my keypad that has locked the crop somehow however there is nothing obvious. I have tried a number of photos across different events but I have the same problem on all of them.
Have you tried just restarting your machine?
If that doesn't help
As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?
Post back with the result.
