Jan 13, 2014 7:13 AM in response to VikingOSXby Flinde,In the collections menu i have a list which includes Purchased, Books, PDFs, followed by the sub-sections i referred to above, but clicking on those sub-sections fails to show the PDFs i have stored there. (Does that answer the question about enabling PDFs?)
N.B. ! my mistake. I mis-typed on my opening statement. It is when i access iBooks from my iMac - not my iPad- that i cannot access the PDFs that I have stored on my iPad.

Jan 13, 2014 9:01 AM in response to Flindeby VikingOSX,Ok. iBooks for Mac. Check the iBooks > General Preferences. Is Sync: checked?
In relation to the above, when you select the Collections tab, are you also selecting PDFs in the left panel?
On your iPad, under settings, scroll down until you see iBooks. Do you have Sync Collections enabled? Under iCloud, do you have Documents & Data enabled? You should check this on OS X under System Preferences > iCloud too.

Jan 13, 2014 12:32 PM in response to Flindeby VikingOSX,★HelpfulOn iBooks for Mac, I just created a new Collection. I dragged two PDF into this new Collection, and left iBooks for Mac open. I then opened IOS 7 iBooks and the new Collection and contents were immediately available there.
Next, I selected a PDF within IOS Adobe Reader and chose to open it in IOS 7 iBooks. I then moved it from the default PDFs folder to my new collection. However, when I reopened iBooks for Mac, the additional PDF did not synchronize via iCloud and update into the new Collection. Not what I expected.
I rebooted phone and OS X with no additional success. This may be a bug between IOS and OS X iBook versions, and their iCloud interface.
Don't have any more practical solution ideas to offer at this point. There have been a substantial number of posts on this issue. No solutions that I saw.

Jan 14, 2014 2:48 AM in response to VikingOSXby Flinde,For your interest... I emailed a PDF attachment (from iBooks) from my iPad, and opened it in my Mac.I then dragged the PDF to iBooks. A display box appeared saying 'This book is already in your library. Do you want to replace it with the one you're adding?' I then pressed the 'cancel' option. The PDF then appeared on my Mac in 'PDFs' in iBooks. So, it would seem that the Mac recognises the presence of all my PDFs stored in iBooks, but does not display them or allow access.
Anyway, thanks for your suggestions and thoughts on this. I shall probably make an appointment ata genius bar and see if they can live up to the name. Best regards, Flinde.
