I updated my Iphoto recently and it is a disaster. Can I get back to original I photo?

My Iphoto is now unuseable after the latest update. I have tried everything I know to get it to work. I have worked with someone here but was unable to get the problem solved. So, what I want to know now, is there a way to get back to the old version of Iphoto. The brown version of the avatar not the blue. Even though my brown version still shows when I click on it to open, the blue comes up.

I have lost photos and everything. Thank goodness for Carbonite but even some of those photos were corrupted.

So, I just want to go back to my old version of Iphoto.

Help.
