Jan 13, 2014 9:40 AM in response to ktitusby Michael Black,Sounds like a hardware problem, not a software problem. Make a genius appointment and have them check it out for you. If you are under warranty, it may be covered. If not, you can get a replacement for the out of warranty exchange fee.

Jan 13, 2014 11:44 AM in response to ktitusby brad805,A software workaround is Assistive Touch. Settings App > General > Accessibility > Assistive Touch > ON > Device > Lock Screen. This can turn OFF the iPhone. To turn ON connect to power, charger or USB port of computer.
