Deleted Microsoft Outlook Exchange Email Account and Lost ALL Contacts on Iphone 4

My company recently deleted our Microsoft Outlook Exchange Email accounts from our Iphone 4. With that being done, apparently you lose everything off your phone. All my contacts are gone, my emails, my text messages, my recent calls, etc. Is there anyway to recover that informatoin? Especially the contacts!!

I do not know if this phone was ever back up-ed to itunes, but I doubt it.

Is there any other way to recover lost contacts??????????

iPhone 4, iOS 7.0.4

No, and you do not lose everything off your iPhone. You lose everything associated with the company Exchange account which is how most companies want it.

Contacts synced over the air with an Exchange account are not stored locally on the iPhone, and email for the account is stored on the Exchange Server as well. Delete the account and there is no longer a connection with the Exchange Server to access Exchange email, contacts, and calendar events.

Text messages and recent calls has nothing to do with this - the Exchange Server contact name won't be there for a recent call or text message, but deleting an Exchange account does not delete text messages or recent calls.

Backing up would make no difference in this regard. Exchange Server contacts are not included with the backup. The Exchange account settings are included. Restore from the backup and the Exchange account is recreated allowing access to the contacts again stored on the Exchange server. Since your company no longer allows access to the account on your iPhone, you lose access to the contacts stored on the server.

To restore from a back up made through iTunes, follow these instructions.

To restore from a back up made through iCloud, try the following:

The difficulty in restoring iCloud data from a back up is that the back up is older than the current version on iCloud and anything that is restored gets removed again when an iCloud sync occurs.

1. Ensure the device is connected to your local network.

2. Start the restore from iCloud back up.

3. Allow the devices settings to restore (watch for the confirmation of completion).

4. As the apps begin to restore pull the connection to your router WAN port (the one that goes to the telephone point).

5. Wait for the time out confirmation.

6. Navigate to settings > iCloud and turn off contact syncing (keep contacts when prompted).

7. Reconnect the router to the internet and let the restore process complete.

8. Delete any iCloud contacts from iCloud.com on a computer.

9. Navigate to settings > iCloud and turn on contact syncing (merge contacts when prompted).

May I suggest that you carry out a back up to iTunes before you try anything, that way should things become even worse, you can at least restore iPhone contacts back to where you are now.

STEP 1: Go settings --> Icloud --> Turn Off the contacts button if it is green --> Chose keep on IPhone.

STEP 2: Go Settings --> Mail, Contacts, Calendars --> Slide down to contacts --> Default Account -- > chose on my Iphone.

This is how you can prevent such incidents in the future.

The only Risk is that you need to back up your phone continuously on your Desktop or Laptop so that in case you lose your phone, you can restore your info to another phone from your back up.

You can also back up your << Back up FIle >> from your Desktop or Laptop on an external USB. ( more secure also):

Back up the Back up file:

Windows XP stores all of your iPhone backup files in this location:

C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup

Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 back up the iPhone files here:

C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup

Hope that helped!
