what to do about a brand new iphone4s that you can't use because the touchscreen is non-responsive. How to fix?

Do exactly as razmee209 said, press and hold both the home and sleep buttons for about 20 seconds (sometimes might take a bit longer) until you see the apple logo, then release and wait for the phone to reboot on its own.
Note: I just did this a few minutes ago before posting this reply, my wife's phone just went nuts a couple of hours ago, hopefully it'll help those facing the same problem.
doesn't work. Restore with itunes neither. Downgrade to 6.1.3 neither. Nothing works. In the middle of composing an e-mail the letters just stop appearing.
What can be wrong?
