iPhone 5 crashes then reboots to drained battery screen

After launching camera from the lock screen, my iPhone has been crashing then rebooting to the screen you see when the battery is drained (regardless of how much battery is left). Sometimes I can reboot after waiting a few minutes, sometimes it will not respond until plugged in to a charger. Has anyone else experienced this?

I think this has also happened when using other camera apps, but I thought I had actually drained the battery (and was wrong), but lately it seems to be tied to using the native app from the lock screen. Phone has been wiped and restored from backup, and still exhibits this behavior.

I have not seen news of any bugs like this.

The Basic Troubleshooting Steps are:

Restart... Reset... Restore from Backup... Restore as New...

Restart / Reset > http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

Restoring > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414

If you try all these steps and you still have issues... Then a Visit to an Apple Store or AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) is the Next Step...

Be sure to make an appointment first...

I just reset my iPhone to factory settings to troubleshoot a SIM card failure (which was resolved with a new SIM card) but did not try to recreate the camera app issue before restoring from the backup.

When I have time, I will try a restore as new and see what happens.

Can the installation of other camera apps cause conflicts, even if they are not running concurrently?
