I received a gift card which I cannot redeem. I get told to redeem it on the UK shop front. My account is not registered in the uk.

You won't be able to redeem or use it - all gift cards are country-specific, they can only be redeemed and used in their country of issue. Do you know anybody in the UK that you could give or sell the card to ?

Not entirely sure what you mean by 'ask someone to redeem it for me', they will only be able to redeem it onto their own account, and they will only be able to buy items for themself with it - they won't be able to gift content to you from it (you can't gift via an account's balance, nor gift to people who in a different country).
