Can´t connect to Windows Vista (32 bit) with my new iPad air. Computer installs driver for digital camera - OK but then give up. Worth mentioning is that iPhone 4s (iOS 7) and iPod connects flawlessly. Any advice?

Thanks for advice - however everything installed etc as adviced in TS1538. Has checked and done as recommended.
Extra lightningcable tested (no change - iTunes still doesn't recognize iPAD)
I have now also tested to start iPAD against MacBook Pro (OSX10.8 "Device not recognized in iTunes." Or rather "Time limit exceeded)
I suspect iPAD Air defect as late model iPOD and iPhone 4S works both against Windows machine and MBP.
Any clue as to what to do before returning unit????
Hello. I bought and iPad Air this morning and I've been working on it all day to fix the same issue. I followed all the instructions in TS1538 but nothing worked. I am frustrated and a little dissapointed about my purchase. I wonder since its been a few months that you posted this problem if you had found anything that solved the issue. Please let me know! Try this
Go into the control panel. Uninstall iTunes, Apple mobile device service, apple application support. Then redownload and reinstall itunes and see if that works.
