I've been trying to reload the software all day for two days. I've tried upgrade, archive, and erase options. It gets about half way through and then stops. A grey screen comes up and says you need to restart your computer. I really perplexed now. Thanks, Wes

Are you using the proper black retail install disk? No other disk will work.

Installing Leopard OS 10.5:
https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-2275 shows you what the Leopard installer disc should look like. All Leopard installers with Mac model names will not work on a G5 iMac.

Yes and I verified the disk. It said it was ok. I tried the archive and install but it always stops about halfway through and tells me to restart my computer. When I do it ejects the disk.
