Q: My iPhone was stolen and i cant afford to replace it. Can i access iCloud on my mac to retrieve photos from my phone?

My iPhone was stolen out of my coat pocket whilst christmas shopping . I immediatley had my phone blocked but because i wasn't insured i was unable to aford to replace my iPhone and had to buy the cheapest most basic phone they had. I had some very important portfolio photos for college on there that i hadn't had the chance to print out. i did have iCloud working on my phone so i was wondering if there was a way to get to my photos via my MacBook? It is very important that i try everything possible to get these photos back otherwise i risk failing my asessment and will have to re do the work. Thank you. R x

Welcome to the Apple Community Rosanna.

    Photos in photo stream...

You can log into your iCloud account on another computer or device and enable photo stream to see your photos. You should do this as soon as possible because photo stream in the cloud only keeps photos for 30 days and each day you delay, you will lose another days photos.

    Photos in the camera roll...

If you kept a back up of your device you can use it to restore to a replacement device, this will restore all of the photos in your camera roll and isn't time limited.

You can't do anything with the back up on your Mac, but if your photos are in back up, you might look for a friend who will let you erase their phone and restore from your back up.
