Saving PDF on computer to read offline on iPhone

Is there a way to save a PDF on my computer so that I can read it offline on my iPhone? Often I am someplace with no phone or wifi service, and I want to be able to read PDFs that I have saved. Dropbox requires a connection to either cell or wifi. Ideas?

Unless you actually send the file to the phone, no. Ther are a number of apps available (incouding iBooks) that will allow you to save PDF files for later use, but of course you will need a connection to get it on the phone in the first place. For simple local file storage, I like File Manager, but DropBox woudl accomplis the same thing as long as you sync before leaving WiFi or Cellular networks.

Thank you for your quick reply. When I am home, I have wifi and also a cable, so getting the pdf to the phone isn't the issue. It's seeing the pdf when the phone is, say, in Airplane Mode or otherwise without cell or wifi.

I have saved pdfs to iBooks, but they don't seem to show up on the phone. And the ones that are on the phone don't seem to show up in iBooks on my Mac. I have all the sync settings on, but can't make the two talk to each other.

Ideas?
You're a pal to engage on this.

Thank you.

No, as long as you have the files synced, you can read them offline. I do it all the time.

Install iBooks on your phone. Email the PDF to yourself when you are at home and get the email on your phone. After opening the email tap on the PDF. After it opens tap on it a then tap the Open in iBooks choice. This will copy the PDF to iBooks on your phone. You can then view that PDF anytime and any place even when without a Wi-Fi or cellular connection.
