Jan 14, 2014 9:02 AM in response to Cybrduckby Limnos,Uh, I am not sure what this has to do with using an iPad in business and education which is the forum to which you posted. iTunes doesn't run on an iPad. Do you want this moved to the Windows forum?
By the way, I think the answer is to make sure you back up your whole iTunes Folder to an external drive.

Jan 14, 2014 9:09 AM in response to Limnosby Cybrduck,That would be awesome if it could move. I took my best guess since Windows wasn't an option when I created the discussion. How do I do that?
Also, I am referring to backing up the iTunes application itsself. I understand that it doesn't run on an iPad. I have been asked to find out if the user iTunes preferences can be moved to a new computer.

Jan 14, 2014 11:53 AM in response to Cybrduckby Limnos,I would just download the iTunes installer (free) from the iTunes tab at the top of this page and stick it on a drive for when I need to use it.
Where are my iTunes files located? - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1391

Jan 14, 2014 11:58 AM in response to Cybrduckby turingtest2,See this migrate iTunes library post. After moving the library across install the application itself by downloading from Apple's website. Most of the settings and the layout of the library will move with it. Some information is stored in preference files stored in the AppData area of the user profile, e.g. the options for Keep... & Copy... that controls what happens when you add files to the library, however I'm not certain whether copying those across is effective and it is easy enough to set them up by hand.
