Q: My Tascam US-1641 makes my computer freeze

So I run Pro Tools 10 and use a Tascam US-1641 interface. When I plug in my interface and try to launch Pro Tools, I get the "spinning wheel of death". I don't know how to fix this. I spend around 10-15 minutes trying to get the two to work together. Right now, I'm running the 2.10 driver for the Tascam and 1.00 firmware. I've tried updating the firmware to 1.02, but every time I try, it fails halfway through.
