Mac to Mac remote

I have MBP and iMac, both running Mavericks, and bound to active directory for network authentication. I'm trying to connect to to iMac from the MBP so that I can see my desktop on the iMac, working from a remote location.

I tried using screen sharing, but it seems that everytime I try to connect, it always ask for admin password.

I do have admin permission both on the iMac & MBP, the password it's looking for is the local admin, not the network account. I cannot login using my account, but I can login if I use the local admin account (which does not have my desktop, files, etc).

What's the best way of doing this?

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)
