Q: iPhone 4s will not identify ONE contacts iMessages!
I'm having an issue with my iPhone 4s. My boyfriend recently bought a used iPhone 4 for a replacement phone! My iMessage identifies all the other iPhones except his! When we text my is sent as a text message and all of his that I receive say iMessage?! When he sends me a text it shows up in his phone as an iMessage? I've tried turning off and on my iMessage and I've tried resetting my networks. Neither of those have worked! Thanks in advanced for any solutions!
iPhone 4S, iOS 7.0.4

Hi whitneyk1719,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. This article has some steps you can try for issues sending iMessages to a specific contact:
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2755
If you are still unable to send or receive an iMessage, follow these steps
- Make sure that the contact trying to message you isn't blocked in Settings > Messages > Blocked.
- Verify that the contact you are attempting to send a message to is registered with iMessage.
- If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, back up or forward important messages and delete your current messaging threads with the contact. Create a new message to the contact and try again.
- If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, delete and re-create the contact in the Contacts application. Create a new message to the newly created contact and try again.
- Back up and restore your device as new.
Specifically, I recommend steps 3 and 4 above.
Cheers,
- Ari
