Does dvi to HDMI adapter works on mid 2007 iMac? Some how my iMac detect the sharp tv but the tv screen is black.

The adapter I bought is mini DVI to HDMI and I have an HDMI cable going from the adapter to the tv. But the tv screen is black. Not working. The computer detects the tv, I can change all the resolutions but the screen still black.

What I really need is a mini dvi to dvi and a dvi to HDMI, right?
