I would like to permanently delete my emails from my Yahoo account once Outlook has downloaded them and placed them into my inbox or other folder that has been set up for that email based on rules. I have just started using an iMac and cannot seem to find the setting of 'delete emails from the server'. I have obviously missed something.

For POP accounts you have the setting in the Advanced tab
IMAP accounts tend to remove them as you Delete them.

I realised that the default settings that are automatically set up are IMAP which leaves the emails on the server as you are just viewing. I needed to set my emails as POP to physically download them and then change the setting to remove them once they are downloaded.
