Endnote x7
I have installed the Version 2 plugin for EndNote X7, but when trying to insert a reference get the message that no open Endnote libraries were found. In Endnote I have huge library open?
MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)

Go check the EndNote website, in Support they warn against using it with Pages 5.
Interestingly Apple makes a feature of this in its on-line ad, and the MathType which also doesn't work.
Peter
Peter, you've made that statement before -- that "MathType...doesn't work [with Pages]." As I have before, I will respond every time I happen to notice that, because it's an incorrect statement. MathType definitely does work with Pages 5.0, Pages 5.0.1, and their presentation and spreadsheet counterparts. Certainly there are special hoops to jump through that are of Apple's doing and not ours, but to say MathType and Pages don't work together is just flat wrong.
Bob
I am quite specific in that I am talking about Pages 5, not Pages '09.
How do you get a MathType formula into a Table in Pages 5?
Peter
Into a table cell -- you don't. You can't. However, it is possible for the equation to comprise the contents of the cell (actually not its contents, but its background fill). So as long as you don't need to mix text & equations in the cell, you can do it (which of course is a huge limitation). To add an equation as a table cell background, you select the table cell first (i.e., with a single click, not a double click), create the equation in MathType, and use copy & paste. You can't double-click to edit the equation; you have to replace it if it needs to be changed.
Our other article describes this, but that's the gist of it. http://www.dessci.com/en/support/MathType/works_with.asp#!target=apple_pages_mac
Leading you gently along the path to messing up your documents:
How do you control the size of this non-editable MathType formula?
How do you make the text size and style match existing text in your table?
Why not just use Grapher to get the same bad result and not bother with MathType at all? 😉
