iDVD 2, pictures cut off on TV

Good Morning, ya all!
I have made an iMovie (version 3) slideshow. Then I exported it to Quicktime, full DV quality, and dragged it in to iDVD 2 and burned it on to a dvd disc.
When I show it on my TV the pictures show fine, except that the outer edges of the pictures don't fit on the screen. In some of the pictures I lose some people that way. Is there an adjustment to make?
I looked in to the "expert settings" instead of the "full DV quality" in the export dialog box, but being a novice I don't know what chose, there are just too many options.

Thanks for your time

sorry, can not remember iDVD2's features any more (getting old...), but in later versions, you can hit -T so see a red frame in the preview, which shows you the socalled safety area...

any CRT TV chops off a bit of a video frame, some more, some less... iDVD/iM show you the full frame... the max, which is on tape/disk... making picture a little smaller avoids this effect...

well, your options are:
* using a pic processor (as Photoshop, GraficConverter, etc)
* using plug-ins in iMovie, see at http://imovieplugins.com/fxhome.html, or http://www.geethree.com/slick/index.html...
* while shooting the pics, keep in mind to add a little "flesh" (as we say in German) around the main motive....

........ would be a nice feature in iPhoto: zooming/adding borders.. 🙂
