hi, now i have a problem with my sound device. on my 10.8.3, i could use my headphone port on the mac to make as a line in. now this 10.8.5 doesn't have that capability. what should i do??

Check in System Preferences > Sounds and check to see what your Output is set to and change the volume as well.
