finder-"new burn folder" video copied from desktop.could use nikkon view nx2 ,instead of iphoto, pics from d3200 recent years but some from 50 years ago digitised on ION PICS TO SD CARD.

philips dvd-r 16x speed vitesse ,ultimate reliability and playback - which takes format from mac os

apple store this morning -reckons divx would work but i think from what he said he was very unsure.

from what i see in community comments - dvd-r manufacturer matters a lot - but it shouldn't.

do we all qualify for degree if we solve these apple related problems?

lol,

vids and pics burned from window

vista

xp

7

from different cameras and camcorders on a variety of dvd-r or dvd-rw play on different players and recorder/players.

pics /slides and vids taken over period of 40 years and processed through hp 3310 all-in-one burned on winows variety of comps-dell,hp,etc-all worked.

problem seems to me to be apple mac related - though blue ray manufacturers should take steps to make life easier.

saw a software program that says can convert to ensure will play.

will find a method that works if concentration doesn't waver and move on to something else

thank you for comment

First, use only quality media such as Verbatim.

And, burn at slow speeds - 2x - in order to avoid burn errors.

Also, in order to view a video on a DVD player, you need to burn it with authoring (burn) software such as iDVD, Roxio Toast, or Burn (free).

You also mentioned that the DVD could not be viewed in a Bluray player? Did you check the specs of the player to see if it will play regular DVDs?

Lastly, I've been burning video and photo slideshows for years on Macs and they've been played in many different DVD players - all without problems. So, make sure you have the right application, the right workflow, and that the DVD player will play your DVDs. Macs and Windows are two different OS's and things need to be done differently on each one.
