Bring it in, the disk may need to be repaired and you need the original install disc for that.

Jan 15, 2014 2:33 PM in response to hxcdeliaby Baby Boomer (USofA),Ask the seller for the DVDs that originally came w/the comp. You need them to troubleshoot. Due to Apple's license aggreement, Macs that came pre-installed w/SL & earlier are not suppose to be sold w/o them unless the comp is being sold for parts only.
You can get replacement System Install & Restore CD/DVDs from Apple's Customer Support - in the US, (800) 767-2775 - for a nominal S&H fee. You'll need to have the model and/or serial number of your Mac available.
