Do I need Airdrop?

I'm a financial planner, looking to get 2 to 3 ipads to use during client meetings. I want to be able to share and modify documents such as PDF's, slides, etc. and duplicate the displays. Do I NEED Airdrop for this? I've never used Ipads before. I'm under the impression that this has been a really common use before Airdrop. What does Airdrop do differently? Thanks.

iPad, iOS 6.1.5, Airdrop

AirDrop allows you to quickly share files with other iOS devices, but does not duplicate the displays and is not collaboration software. iOS has no native function for either. For information about AirDrop, see:

As to sharing presentations, this app might be worth investigating:

If you need collaboration on documents, you can look at iWork for iCloud, current in beta:

or a third-party service such as Google Docs.
