Installing an SSD error repartition

Hi,

I got an error while installing an SSD on my mid 2009. it says:

To install on this disk, open Disk utility by choosing utilities>disk utility>and repartition this disk using "GUID Partition Table".

I went to disk utility but I cannot see the option partition.
