So I have a macbook pro, late 2011. The model is A1278. The logic board went bad (due to water) and it needs replaced. I happen to have a spare logic board from a mid year 2012 A1278. Looking at these logic boards, they look absolutely identical. Does anyone know if I can just swap logic boards? is there anything else I need to consider? thanks
I doubt if anyone here knows for sure, but logically it sure seems like it should work. The only thing left is the screen, and I don't think there were any dramatic changes that would prevent it from working. You may have to reinstall the OS depending on what version it was running.
