If I remove my SIM card, will it erase anything off my phone or change any of me setting? What affect will it have?

I can text everyone but one of my friends who does not have an iphone. She can send me messages but she doesn't recieve any of my texts. I can text other non iPhones fine with no problem and I have already turned my iMessage off. Will removing my SIM card help?

iPhone 4S, iOS 7.0.1

No. Removing your SIM will not help. If you remove your SIM, it will be physically impossible for you to send SMS or MMS messages, or to make phone calls. That's what the phone uses to establish a connection with the cellular network.
