my iPhone 4 has started turning off by itself

my iphone 4 has started to turn off.i can turn it back on but it will turn straight off again.the battery is fully charged but have noticed that while it is connected to the computer it's not turning off.do i bin it and get a new one which i dont really want to do or is this fixable??
