PDF Repair App? (not able to open PDFs in Mac Acrobat that I created in Mac Acrobat & used to be able to open)

Is there a software utility (legit.) to repair pdfs? Does anyone have experience with PDFAid?

I have Mac Acrobat 11.0.6. I deleted Adobe Reader & then did a fresh reinstall. I deleted the following plug-ins from the Internet Plug-Ins folder: AdobePDFViewer, AdobePDFViewerNPAPI, iGetter, and Silverlight.

Like others who have posted, I am not able to open saved pdfs in Acrobat that I created with Mac Acrobat, sent as email attachments, and used to be able to open. I get the message “Acrobat could not open '_____.pdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded).”

I’ve posted a similar question in the Adobe forum.

Thank you!
