I'm ordering my MacBook sometime this week, and i've decided that i'm going to just order it stock (well, with an 80 GB HD upgrade), and just buy 2GB of RAM and install it myself. Does anyone have any suggestions for the cheapest/best website/place to buy the new RAM?
Definately buy it from newegg not from apple. If you do it right you should be able to get the ram shipped for somewhere around $150 bucks. I got a couple sticks for $70 each with a $10 dollar mail in rebate on each. After shipping it ended up like $150 - $10 = $130. It was OCZ (reputable company in the overclocking world) DDR2 667 and it runs great in my macbook. The installation is a breeze too good call.
Hi check the prices at
www.powerlinememory.com. I've purchased from them in the past with very good results. Their shipping is a bit slow so don't pay extra for faster shipping, it's not worth it. The actual parts are high quality and you will be happy!
