iPod touch won't charge

My iPod touch 5th generation will not charge. It is new, bought in August of 2013, been dead since September of 2013. It had a message saying "the charger is not compatible with this device", I ignored it until I plugged it in and it didn't charge at all! I used different chargers. Other chargers work for my brothers iPad mini, he had the same issues but it won't work on mine. I used a friends charger, surprisingly it worked! I don't know what charger she uses but we're not friends anymore so I can't find out. I certainly did not get my iPod wet, nothing happened to it at all!

Not Charge

- See:

iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting

iPhone and iPod touch: Charging the battery

- Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.

- Try another charging source

- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.

- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
