Hi, I encounterred the same error message with my speaker Pioneer VSX-822 too, and local support didn't seem to be able to resolve it.

I applied the suggestion above to my Mac and it didn't work either.  Any new resolution can be suggested?

Hi, I read a discussion in other stereo forum with similar question, and I followed the suggestion to simply unplug and re plug my stereo system and the error 15008 message got resolved.  Not sure it applies to your Phillips but FYI

For my Denon AVR S-700W, unplugging and re-plugging worked.  Note - simply turning the unit on and off did NOT work.

I'm getting this error trying to play from itunes to an ihome speaker.  I've tried from my PC and ipad.

I've tried unplugging, restarting, updating itunes, ihome but still getting the same.

Anyone have ideas to try?  It has worked in the past.

I get the same problem. Have you find a solution ? I wonder if this is not a bug with the new iTunes versions.

    Hi Michael

I left my speaker unplugged for a few days, so the backup battery had run down too.  I plugged everything back in and it worked without the error.

Thanks ! I actually discovered a bug with my TEAC stereo device : if I start it up when a USB is plugged in, AirPlay does not work ; when no USB device is plugged in the TEAC stereo while turning it on, it works like a charm. 100% reproduced and reported to TEAC. But at least I have an easy workaround.

This link doesn't go anywhere?  My guess is perhaps whatever the article suggests didn't work out so well much of the time.  I'm quite frustrated

my iMac doesn't want to "play nice" with connecting my iTunes via AirPlay with my supposedly compatible Marantz 1605 receiver via my Airport extreme Wifi.  It worked on and off in the beginning but evolved to never working.  Wish I could see this article that might help:)

I have an Apple TV 3rd generation and when I've leave my iMac for a while, or when I wake it up from overnight sleep, the same thing is happening.  Even if I walk over to my TV and turn it on and wake up the Apple TV, I am still getting this message the first time I attempt to play my iTunes music from my iMac to the Apple TV.

All I have to do is select iTunes active and unselect the Apple TV and then select it again in the AirPlay devices drop down on the top left and it joins with no issues.  This error seems to be associated with the Apple TV going to sleep or not being "awake" to receive the AirPlay wireless signal.  I would hope Apple would address this error, as I obviously want to play AirPlay to the Apple TV and don't want an error message.  A more effective way to deal with this is to prompt the user to wake up the Apple TV, or state that it is not available.  But not an error message.  It is not an error.  The device is simply asleep.

I'd attempted to clear the Apple TV cache by holding down the menu key and the down arrow on my Apple TV remote simultaneously for ten seconds, with no results

I attempted to unplug the Apple TV and plug it back in, with no results.

I utilize Apple Feedback online every day... but this is a thankless process as nothing I have ever reported has been fixed by Apple.

    Mavericks OS 10.9.5

    iTunes 12.2.3.17

Apple TV model A1427 (3rd Generation).
