Need to repair a small corrupted .MOV file

I recently had my external drive recovered and I lost a large amount of video files from a particular project I was working on.

I managed to salvage enough footage to make the project work except I have this ONE particular .MOV file that is corrupted that will not open and I desperately need it!

I have tried every software trial and Terminal script I could find. Including ffmpegx, Remo trial, Stellar Phoenix, HD video repair 1.5+, cycorder etc. I can't convert the .mov to .avi and repair the .avi, because the .mov isn't recognized, so that's out of the question.

The only one that seems to get it to open is this software/service called 'Treasured'. However, once it shows the preview, they contact the tech and they quote you $139 to repair the clip. All I need is the first 20-30 seconds of the clip and cannot afford the cost at this time.

Does anyone have any FREE suggestions to repair this small file??

Thank you!

Sorry, there are no free (or even inexpensive) applications to perform the task. The full recovery of damaged video files requires the sort of hands-on services you're discovering such as

Given your particular need to recover only a small fragment of a longer piece, you might give the second one a whirl. It advertises "free 50% repair." Please let us know how it goes.
