I have a copy of Final Cut Express 2. Can I get a current upgrade instead of repurchasing the new Final Cut Pro?

I have a old copy of Final Cut Express 2 that I never installed. Can I get a current upgrade instead of repurchasing the new Final Cut Pro?

The Apple Store does not show does not contain purchase information of the old unused Final Cut Express. What can I do to register Final Cut Express 2 will not operate in the current OS systems on my iMac. It only is compatible with the G3 or G5.
