Audio CDs do not have track information on the track. When you put a CD into a computer it looks at the audio structure and goes to a database such as Gracenote where it identifies the CD based on this fingerprint and pulls up the data. The computer itself can store the data for future insertions of the CD, and if you add the files to iTunes it can also store information.
You can burn as a data CD as suggested by turingtest2 but this will not be readable by a standard CD player. However, if you had CDs work in the past this was likely what you did and you may have burned it as a mp3 CD.
