Q: Trying to download iOS7.0 to my iPad

I'm trying to update the software on my iPad to iOS 7.0. But when I go to "Software Update" under "Settings", all I get is a notice that says "iOS5.1.1 is up to date". There is no ability to download from that screen. So how do I do it?

Check your model of iPad:

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5452

If you have an iPad 1, as most likely you do, iOS 5.1.1 is the last version your iPad can run.

If your iPad is the original iPad 1, it cannot be upgraded past iOS 5.1.1. Sorry.

You don't. You have an iPod 1, and it cannot support any iOS aboive 5.1.1. I'm afraid your hardware is up against its limit.
