I am getting error messages after downloading and trying to open new excel spreadsheets and suspect a virus. How do I uninstall office and then reinstall? Thank you!

Here is how to thoroughly uninstall Office for Mac 2011:

Reinstall Office for Mac 2011 using the original CDs.
If you have some other version of Office (Office 365), you could download it from the Microsoft website.
Thank you. I will read those and try your suggestions. However, we do not have CD's...we downloaded Office online. Will my office docs and spreadsheets that were previously downloaded remain on my system? Thank you!
Make sure your Office docs and spreadsheets are housed in places like your Documents folder ... not under some Microsoft specific folder.
