Q: Can you put a 500mb ram stick into a iMac
Hello
I have an old eMac, which has two 500MB sticks of ram, which I no longer use and I was wondering if I could put those 500MB ram sticks into my 21.5 inch mid 2011 iMac as it only has 4GB of ram and I would like it to be slightly more powerful. Is this actually possible or is there a problem to do with, the ram being too old or too small? Also is there any risk of breaking the imac when inputting the new the ram into it?
Thank you!
iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1), also it involves an eMac

No your mid 2011 iMac will be using DDR3 whereas the older eMac is using DDR which is not compatible physically nor electronically.
