What's wrong and how to I fix my iPod nano 4th gen

Ok so my iPod nano has a black screen with one green thin line on the right and one thick blue line on the right edge.

It wouldn't turn on until I fully charged it and only when I reset it with the select and hold buttons.

After resetting the screen would show signs of resetting but the backlight would not turn on.

It would not show up on iTunes unless I plugged it in and then reset it with select and home buttons.

It then says the iPod is in recovery mode.

After restoring the iPod it repeats the same message.
