sometimes when i get a voicemail, i can only acces it with *86, is there a way to refresh voicemail easily so the message loads properly?

voicemail is a carrier feature, call your carrier to see if they can help resolve the issue.
i went into the verizon store and they had no answers. they actually said they never heard of the problem and i know at least 2 people that have had similar experiences.

Ask them to reset your voicemail. They have the ability to do that. Why they are expecting you to give them an explanation does not make sense. They really don't need to know why, just that you would like to do it.
