Q: My imac wont boot and when I attempt to use the original install disk it cant find a drive to mount

My imac started by not booting and showing the flashing folder. I though I would just reinstall but once the install disk boots and you have to choose a driive to install onto, there is no hdd option. HDD just doesnt appear

any thoughts? help?

Open the Disk Utility and either repair or erase the internal drive. If it doesn't show up in the Disk Utility either, it probably needs to be replaced.
